Public Liability Insurance
All Hirers are encouraged to obtain their own Public Liability Insurance Policy to the value of $20 million. Please complete public liability insurance section on booking form. If Public Liability Insurance is required, Venue Staff are required to complete a copy of the “City of Darebin’s Casual Hirers Public Liability Scheme” application form for each booking limited to 52 casual bookings per year.

This cover is for individuals or groups for non-profit making activities, that do not have existing public liability insurance and is not intended to provide cover for festivals, exhibitions, theatre performances, sporting type activities, rock concerts/performances or hirers involved in a profit making activity where an admission fee is charged.

If you are looking for insurance cover for an event or performance, you can contact Marsh Insurance or Duck For Cover.

Statement By A Supplier
When you pay suppliers who provide goods or services to your business, those suppliers generally need to quote an ABN. They can quote their ABN on an invoice or some other document that relates to the goods and/or services they provide. If you do not have an ABN, you need to complete the Statement by a Supplier Form.

Food Safety
Events where food will be sold or served to the general public must abide by Food Safety standards and require a Darebin food permit. Each trader or food provider will need their own permit. Hirers will need a valid Food Handling Certificate to acquire a permit. To apply for a permit contact Darebin Health Officer on (03) 8470 8652.
