Northcote Independent Fashion Festival

On April 10 the Northcote Business Association once again presents the Northcote Independent Fashion Festival (NIFFTY) at the Northcote Town Hall. NIFFTY 2010 will showcase High Street Northcote’s eclectic mix of fashion and design retailers. NIFFTY will consist of a fashion parade, performances by musicians styled in Northcote clothing, a local designer and retailer market place and food and wine stalls. The event is family friendly and will be held indoors come rain, hail or shine.

A free event for year 7-10 students, bringing together secondary schools from all around Victoria. Working in teams of four students and one adult, students set out on an Amazing Race style adventure to explore their local area using trains, trams and buses. Strategy and teamwork are the keys in this game as teams solve puzzles and follow clues to unlock pit stops located at historic, leisure and cultural attractions. Four suburban races are held in Melbourne's West, North, East and South with top teams progressing throught o the CBD-based final. Metlink's Great Transport Race is a fun way to learn about catching public transport to your favourite destinations, with plenty of great prizes up for grabs, for both students and schools. Entries are limited, so register now on the website.
